Recent Work- Portraits

November 9, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

Here are a few portrait sessions from the summer. The first two are for Keith Roy & Associates who were looking to re-establish their brand in the Vancouver Real Estate Market.

The next one is not a posed portrait but rather an impromptu shot I made during a 7.5 km race here in Tübingen. The sunlight was bouncing off the building perfectly at this spot to give the shot a feeling of being lit intentionally.

And the last one is an attempt at a self portrait. I was looking to update my picture on my “ABOUT” page on my website but despite liking the colours of this shot I ended up not going with it.

TECH STUFF- Keith’s shot was lit with a speedlight in a reflective umbrella camera left. We shot this at the exact time of the day that allowed for the sun to provide both a back light on the subject and reflect off of the aluminum railing to create the interesting background. Canon 5D mkII 70-200 f4L.

Taryn’s shot was lit with a speedlight in a shoot through umbrella camera left. Once we had moved inside we noticed the sunlight casting an interesting pattern on the doorway in the background. Canon 5D mkII 70-200 f4L.

The runner’s shot was 100% available light. Canon 5d mkII 70-200 f4L.

My self portrait was lit with a single, bare speedlight camera right on full spot using the sun for a backlight. Canon 5D mkII 50mm f1.4L.
